Our Story

Peterson Home Improvement is a family-owned company that has been in business since 1990. We are a licensed, insured, and reputable contractor that serves Dutchess, Ulster, and northern Orange counties. Our core values are honesty and integrity, and we strive every day to provide outstanding craftsmanship, quality products, and our undivided attention from start to finish.

Our motto, "Contracting with a Conscience, " means that we are dedicated to finding solutions that meet your needs, and we stand behind our work. Whether your project is large or small, we are committed to delivering the same level of quality service.

Our Team

Our team is led by Ed Peterson, who was trained in New York City and completed a 4-year apprenticeship to become a New York State-certified carpenter. Ed has worked on many high-end projects and has been certified by the New York State Department of Labor. He has also testified as an expert witness in courts of law.

Office manager Jean Peterson is always happy to take your call and arrange an in-home appointment at a time that is convenient for you and your family. Jean understands and empathizes with homeowners who are in the midst of a renovation project, and she realizes your home is your haven.
