As a national award-winning, independent design firm, we specialize in creating customized kitchen, bath, and home renovation designs that cater to your unique lifestyle and preferences. Our team, led by Sharon Hopkins, CKD, CBD, CID, comprises of experienced professionals who have been working in the San Francisco Bay area for over 25 years.

Sharon, a certified kitchen, bath, and interior designer, has a knack for approaching design problems with versatility and enthusiasm. With her extensive experience in the industry, she has worked with numerous clients, contractors, and showrooms, offering her expertise in designing complete home renovations and room additions. She has also worked as a designer and sales representative for national cabinet manufacturers, making her well-versed in the intricacies of kitchen and bath design.

Sharon's professional designations include Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), Certified Bath Designer (CBD), and Certified Interior Designer (CID), awarded by the National Kitchen and Bath Association. She is a member of the California Council for Interior Design and the Northern California Chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Sharon has been a judge for the National Design Competition and has won second place in the National Award for Residential Bath Design twice.

Our Process

Our design process begins with an initial meeting with our clients, where we discuss their remodeling ideas, lifestyle, and long-term goals for their home. We believe in involving everyone who will be making decisions regarding the remodeling or construction process. During this meeting, we provide our portfolio, a DesignPro booklet containing useful consumer information, and survey forms for our clients to complete. We also share copies of our contract, resume, client and professional referrals, and addresses of recent completed projects.

Once we have gathered all necessary information, we begin the designing process. This starts with careful measuring, which may take an hour or more, depending on the scope of the project. We then review the survey forms, discuss our clients' remodeling goals and wish list, and schedule the next appointment for reviewing several different computer-printed design layouts, perspectives, and overviews.

We present initial layouts to stimulate discussion and listen to our clients' feedback to define the final layout. All initial designs are left with our clients to consider, and when they are ready to make changes to one of the layouts, we meet again. Changes are made to the layout until our clients are satisfied, and we then prepare the revised plan for their approval. This includes detailed cabinetry, appliances, lighting, and electrical needs.

Finally, we prepare the final plans for contractor bids and building permits. These plans contain existing and remodeled floor plans, elevations, material specifications, building codes, construction details, and engineering if needed.
